We start this e-zine with some great film footage showing life in Woodside and Dean Clough in 1945 

I couldn't help but notice how black the buildings were and how different the communities were compared to todays. Did you recognise any people and places?

A Museum since 1887, Bankfield tells the story of Halifax and Calderdale.

This Victorian mansion was the home of local mill owner, philanthropist and MP, Colonel Edward Akroyd.
