By keeping left and passing Lloyds Bank you would have reached the Junction Inn. It was buit in the 1850s as a Temperence Hotel and kept by Garside the tinner whose descendant, "Sniffy Garside" was a gifted metalworker. Organised boxing bouts were held in a large room beneath the inn which later became popular as a betting house. The publican and bookie became well known to everyone as 'Marmaduke at't' Junc'
