Malcolm Russell informing about the 5 cyclists. I am the one on the left, my cousin Colin Shoesmith (from Ovenden ) is next, then Ralph Crabtree, then the farmer John Greenwood and Graham Mitchell . It was taken by a Halifax Courier photographer at the start of the Easter Holidays 1959. We were on our way to Clitheroe for a camping holiday and a bit of adventure. The photo was taken at the end of Myrtle Avenue where it joins Keighley road.

The photographer had just overtaken us and was doing a piece for the paper on how people spent their Easter holidays. Apart from cousin Colin, we all lived in Southowram and we were all in the same class at Victoria secondary modern school at Brighouse.
