War Memorial
At the end of Pinnar Lane, opposite the War Memorial is a large and flat field belonging to Kitson Bros farmers (pic above). This used to be the cricket field of St Michael and All Angels Church (pic below) opened by Bishop Frodsham and Sir Harold Mackintosh in 1924. Map showing the cricket field in the centre of pic.

Photo taken of Postlethwaites' bakers shop, van and staff at roadside, Pinnar Lane (garden wall there now). Top of Richardsons tower (west side) with finials just visible at the rear. The bakery is behind this shop. (later Brosters' shop).
The bakery and shop was part of a large building known as Laverock Hall which had the observatory added on.
The building that stood next to the observatory has an archaic stone face on its wall.
